A lake in the ore mountains or Erz mountains where the wooden seat tops for the rowac Schemel or stool are made.

Gateway to the silver Ore Mountains.

In 1888 Rowac started production in Chemnitz, the gateway to the “silver Ore Mountains”. Today, that tradition lives on with production taking place exclusively in Chemnitz and the surrounding region. The PEFC-certified wood used for our seat tops is sourced from the Ore Mountains and processed locally by experienced woodturners in an environmentally friendly manner.

Built to last.

Our seat tops are made true to the original from three solid wood boards held together with elaborate feather joinery. A lathe is used to craft the soft ergonomic seat shape which Rowac is known for. The surface is then sanded, treated with hard wax oil and finally polished.
